The medication drug Generic Bactrim is the combination of two antibiotics called sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. Bactrim is a brand name of any generic antibiotic sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim (sometimes called co-trimoxazole). Side Effects
- Sore throatand cough
- Serious and prolonged diarrheathat may occur with fever and stomach cramps, which possibly indicates a C. difficile infection
- Fever or chills
- Breathlessness
- Unusual Bruisingand Bleeding
- Yellowing of the skin and eyes
- Joint or muscle pull or pain
Dosage
- Adults -1 tablet in every 12 hours for adults for 10 t0 12 day. Doctor should be consulted.
- Children – For urinary tract infections 40mg/kg sulfamethoxazole and 8 mg/kg trimethoprim per 24 hours, given in two divided doses every 12 hours for 10 days.
